Nato a Ventimiglia (Liguria)
nel 1972.
Laureato con lode in Lettere all’università Roma Tre con una tesi sul cortometraggio e i film a episodi.
Regista, produttore e docente di cinema, ha realizzato documentari e cortometraggi che hanno ottenuto numerosi riconoscimenti nazionali e internazionali.
Dai primi anni Novanta organizza eventi cinematografici in Italia e all’estero.
Ha lavorato al Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia – Cineteca Nazionale e collaborato come selezionatore per diversi festival.
Dal 2005 è responsabile tecnico del Centro Produzione Audiovisivi dell’Università Roma Tre, nel 2016 ha ideato e coordinato il Master di I livello in “Cinema del Reale“.
E’ stato docente del laboratorio di Filmmaking ed attualmente del laboratorio di Cinema Documentario.
Ha fondato nel 2005 OFF!CINE, cineclub e associazione culturale con la quale nel 2010 ha creato [CINEMA.DOC], primo circuito per la diffusione del documentario nelle sale di prima visione.
Dal 2011 al 2015 è stato coordinatore del Premio Doc/it Professional Award e dal 2012 al 2015 è stato co-direttore artistico de “Il Mese del Documentario”.
Nel 2015 è finalista al Premio Franco Solinas con “Emma e Maria”.
E’ stato membro del direttivo nazionale FICC (Federazione Italiana Circoli del Cinema) dal 2009 al 2013.
E’ stato membro del direttivo Doc/it (Associazione Documentaristi Italiani) dal 2011 al 2015. Nel 2022 ha creato con Emma Rossi Landi il Rome International Documentary Festival di cui è co-direttore artistico.
Born in Ventimiglia (Italy) in 1972. Graduate cum laude of Roma 3 University with a degree in Literature and a thesis on short films. Director, producer and teacher he has over 20 years experience in organization of film screenings and events.In 2010 he has been artistic director of [CINEMA.DOC], the first Italian project for distributing documentary films in national theatres. From 2011 till 2015 he was been curator of the Doc/it Professional Award, the Italian professional prize for the Best Italian Documentary of the Year. From 2012 till 2015 he has been artistic co-director of IL MESE DEL DOCUMENTARIO.
Since 2005 he works as manager of the Audiovisuals Production Center at Rome 3 University, where in 2016 he created and coordinated the “Master Cinema del Reale” (Documentary Filmmaking) and he teaches Filmmaking and Documentary Cinema. In 2015 his screenplay “Emma e Maria” was Finalist at Franco Solinas Prize. From 2009 till 2012 he has been member of the National Board of FICC (Italian Federation of Film Societies). From 2011 till 2015 he has been member of the National Board of Doc/it (Italian Documentary Association). In 2022 he created and is co-director together with Emma Rossi Landi of the Rome International Documentary Festival.
